Who am I?

I'm just a guy from northern Europe who was born in the 80s. I grew up in a non-religious household, but had a brief stint in Christianity as an adult, which ended badly. Now I am an agnostic dystheist, a philosophical pessimist and generally quite the doomer. This website is an archive for my philosophical and commentary content, which you can find by scrolling down.

Generally I am a naturalist. So I think most things that happen in this world can be explained naturally through science and logic. I think evolution is real, and the big bang probably happened, although I am open to other scientific explanations such as a cyclical universe or the simulation theory.

Due to some personal experiences I am not completely dismissing the possibility of a spiritual dimension. As an agnostic dystheist however, I think that if there is a god, then they are most likely at least partially malevolent due to the problem of evil. Whether they are actively malevolent or just indifferent to our plight is another question. But eutheism, or the belief that god is benevolent, seems more like a coping mechanism to me.

Philosophically I am a pessimist and align much with Arthur Schopenhauer's thinking. But I am a bit of an absurdist as well, because I think this reality is quite strange, and I tend to lean towards epicureanism rather than stoicism. I am somewhat new to philosophy and thus obviously I do not have a university degree in the subject either, that's why I call myself a meme philosopher. I just like thinking about things and sharing my observations. Other philosophers that interest me are Friedrich Nietzsche, Albert Camus, Emil Cioran and Thomas Ligotti.

My content is mostly commentary on our dystopian reality and various philosophical ideas, as well as my views on spirituality and the hypothetical god from a somewhat dystheistic perspective.
