Meme Philosopher

I'm just a guy from northern Europe, born in the 80s, known mostly as Husker online. I grew up in a non-religious household, but had a brief stint in Christianity as an adult, which ended badly. Now I am an agnostic dystheist and a philosophical pessimist (doomer) with a distaste for religion, especially Abrahamism. This website is my home on the interwebs where I archive my philosophical content, which you can find by scrolling down.

My worldview

Generally I would say I'm a naturalist. I think most things in this world can be naturally explained through science and logic. I think evolution is real, it makes sense, and probably the big bang as well although I am open to other scientific theories. Based on my personal experiences, I won't completely dismiss some sort of spiritual dimension existing. The simulation hypothesis is another possibility. As an agnostic dystheist however, I don't know if there is a god, but if there is, then that god is likely malevolent to some degree due to the suffering we experience and witness happening here on Earth. Whether they are actively malevolent or just indifferent to our plight is another question. In my view eutheism, or the belief that god is benevolent, seems like more of a coping method that lacks evidence.

My philosophy

Philosophically I am a pessimist and align much with Arthur Schopenhauer, but I am also a bit of an absurdist, because I think this world is quite strange. I lean toward determinism being true as well, but I am not really a hard determinist because this world isn't perfectly predictable, nor is it entirely chaotic, but something in between. Friedrich Nietzsche is another interesting thinker who helps me to cope with the predicament of being alive. I am also interested in Emil Cioran and Thomas Ligotti, but I haven't explored their works too much yet. I consider myself philosophically (but not politically) an antinatalist as well, and I am not life affirming. I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze in this universe.

Other notes

I call myself a meme philosopher because I have no official degree in philosophy, and I am not really well read (yet) either, but I like to think and share my thoughts, observations and experiences. I do also like memes, and include them in my videos. But obviously don't treat my content as the absolute truth, I can sometimes be wrong.

On this page you can find links to my content, which is mostly commentary on society and philosophical ideas, as well as my views on spirituality and the hypothetical god.

If you want to contact me, you can join my Discord server linked above.
